Joni Breland has spent much of her life discovering that faith doesn’t mean living without fear. Rather, it means learning to trust in God’s grace, even when life takes us places we never expected to go.
With a professional background in business management, human resources, and executive administration, Joni has always had a heart for people. For more than four decades, she has been involved in recovery communities and volunteer organizations dedicated to helping others find hope, healing, and a fresh start.
Joni believes strongly in the importance of seeking professional help when facing life’s challenges. At the same time, she knows the value of sharing our personal experiences—the good, the difficult, and especially those things we wish had never happened.
Through her own journey, she has learned that God’s forgiveness, grace, and mercy can reach into even the most painful circumstances. By openly sharing her struggles, mistakes, and unexpected blessings, she hopes to encourage others to face their own lives with honesty, personal accountability, and the assurance that Christ’s forgiveness offers hope and renewed purpose.
Confirmed in the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in 2005, Joni is an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas, where she and her husband, George, worship and serve.
An enthusiastic optimist, devoted animal lover, and firm believer in serving the Lord with gladness, Joni has come to trust that when God calls her to something, He will provide what she needs along the way.
Life rarely turns out exactly as we imagine. Sometimes the very things we fear most become part of a much greater story.
And sometimes, the first step is simply to Just Get on the Bus!
Just Get on the Bus! is Joni’s personal reflection on fear, faith, Christ’s forgiveness, and the extraordinary ways God works through ordinary lives.
